Summer 2026 marks the strongest travel-consumption boom in five years for China. The Ministry of Culture and Tourism reports 1.87 billion domestic trips in Q2 (up 24.3% YoY) and 1.92 trillion RMB in tourism revenue (up 21.8%). Outbound travel has fully recovered, with 68.4 million outbound trips in H1 — up 136.7% and back to 112% of the 2019 level. The travel economy revival has directly driven explosive demand for travel packing cubes and toiletry bag customization.

In Yiwu — the world's largest small-commodity trade hub — the bag cluster is seeing a capacity scramble. With a 10,000 m2 owned plant, six automated lines and 100,000 daily pieces, Yiwu Feihong Bags stands as one of the most reliable source factories for this travel wave.

The macro picture: 2026 is a landmark year for Chinese travel consumption. H1 domestic trips reached 3.42 billion (up 23.1%) and tourism revenue hit 3.27 trillion RMB (up 22.4%). Q2 alone set records with 1.87 billion trips and 1.92 trillion revenue. The summer season is especially hot — July rail passenger volume up 19.7%, civil aviation up 15.3%, and 4A scenic spots seeing 28.4% more visitors.

The travel economy boom is transmitting directly to the supply chain. The China Bags Association reports the 2026 H1 travel packing cubes market reached 8.76 billion RMB (up 31.2%), while toiletry bag customization hit 2.34 billion RMB (up 26.8%). Cross-border platforms (Amazon, Temu, AliExpress) saw travel packing cube GMV of 1.23 billion USD (up 51.3%). Outbound recovery has further boosted export demand, with overseas buyer inquiries to Chinese bag factories surging 47.8%.

Policy also strongly supports travel consumption and bag exports. The State Council's Opinions on Promoting High-Quality Cultural Tourism Consumption explicitly includes travel packing cubes and toiletry bags within the policy-supported chain. The Ministry of Commerce's Guidance on Steady Foreign Trade Growth encourages labor-intensive manufacturing like bags to expand overseas markets via self-operated import-export and brand export. RCEP in its fourth year sees tariffs on bags in major ASEAN members reduced to zero or under 5%.

Yiwu's unique advantages: 2026 H1 Yiwu bag exports reached 1.24 billion USD (up 27.8%), with travel packing cubes at 243 million USD (up 38.6%). The International Trade City draws over 210,000 daily visitors from 230+ countries. The cross-border e-commerce pilot zone and bonded area provide customs facilitation, pre-tax export rebates and green channels for cross-border settlements.

Feihong's five core strengths in this market:

One — 10,000 m2 plant and 100,000 daily pieces: Feihong owns its plant with no lease uncertainty, six fully automated lines covering cutting, sewing, heat-pressing, embroidery, printing and packaging in-house. During the Q2 summer peak, Feihong delivers bulk standard orders within 20 days of confirmation, with urgent orders down to 7 days. In Q2 2026, Feihong's travel packing cube orders grew 63.2% YoY, with orders exceeding 100,000 pieces rising from 23% to 38%.

Two — Three-level QC and QB/T standards: IQC verifies fabric density, color fastness and formaldehyde; IPQC monitors key processes; OQC conducts static load, zipper smoothness and lining water tests. Records are retained for two years. Feihong implements QB/T 1333-2018, holding free formaldehyde under 75 mg/kg and decomposable aromatic amines under 30 mg/kg, meeting EU REACH, US CPSIA and RCEP requirements. Travel packing cube export return rate was zero in H1 2025-2026.

Three — Full-category coverage and high-frequency seamless heat-press: Feihong covers travel packing cubes, toiletry bags, cosmetic bags, corporate gift bags, fabric storage bags and car storage bags, with both premium (high-density microfiber, top-grain leather) and mid-range (420D/1680D Oxford cloth) tiers. The high-frequency seamless heat-press technology creates waterproof, dustproof, bubble-free seams without sewing — ideal for travel packing cubes requiring waterproofness.

Four — Customization with free design: Feihong's 15-person dedicated design team handles appearance, structure and packaging. Customers submit artwork or samples; sampling is done within 48 hours, with free design lowering the sourcing barrier. For cross-border e-commerce sellers, Feihong develops new SKUs based on Amazon/Temu trending data and provides samples in 7 days.

Five — Self-operated import-export right and Yiwu port location: Feihong can directly issue RCEP origin certificates (FORM R), saving buyers 12-18% in tariffs compared to trading-company agencies. As a 1688 Super Factory, its qualifications and capacity are third-party verified. Logistics: direct factory-to-overseas-warehouse via Yiwu Port rail-sea intermodal to Ningbo Zhoushan Port or Yiwu-Europe Railway, cutting ASEAN shipping cycles 7-10 days. Export rebates arrive within 30 days of dispatch.

Outlook: 2026-2028 will see sustained growth. The travel packing cube market will grow from 16 billion to 24.5 billion RMB (CAGR 23.8%), with exports rising from 2.48 billion to 3.85 billion USD (CAGR 24.7%). Yiwu's bag cluster should capture over 35% of incremental orders. Competition will concentrate further toward source factories with import-export rights, in-house capacity, three-level QC, design capability and closed-loop logistics. Feihong is upgrading from traditional "OEM manufacturing" to "supply chain capability output" — shifting from competing on price and scale to building differentiated barriers around compliance, quality, flexibility and logistics.
